Dining Around Oxford: Valentine’s Day

Who is in love? Who is in love? Who loves food?

It is no secret that Valentine’s Day is around the corner and it’s no secret either that we ladies are wanting that special night out either! Whether you are celebrating with your main #GALentines or with that certain someone, Valentine’s dinner does require some thought and planning ahead of time. We have done some of the restaurant research for you regarding specials, menu changes & whether or not they take reservations!

So, now you just have to pick which restaurant (and slyly show this to your Valentine so they can plan accordingly *cough cough* reservations)!

Jinsei has such a fun atmosphere and would be great for Valentine’s Day. Obviously a great spot for sushi lovers, but Jinsei’s casual, yet sophisticated vibes make it the perfect restaurant for a GNO, for new couples, and of course welcomes any sushi lover.

Jinsei is bringing back a lot of seasonal drink favorites right before V-day! Pictured above are the incredible “Kissed by Fire” and “Joan’s Home.” Usually, they serve champagne along with dinner, as well.

What a classic! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and we can’t get enough of it!

Bouré is first-come, first-serve and will be serving a dish of the night! Bouré has wonderful seating and has a great view of the square. Get there early to avoid a wait. However, if there is one, the will be well worth it!

With a fancy feel, McEwen’s is a great suggestion for dinner with your Valentine! McEwen’s is already taking reservations, so be sure to call and book your table as soon as possible!

McEwen’s will be running a two-person dish special that you won’t want to miss out on! This will make ordering so simple and make the tone romantic!

Saint Leo:

Ahhh, Saint Leo! One of our personal favorite places to wine & dine! Saint Leo will not be taking reservations either and will still be first-come, first-serve.

Saint Leo will have many specials to choose from, including steak, fish, and dessert specials. The only problem is that it will be hard to choose just one! We always love to go here with our girlfriends, but it would make an excellent date night as well!

Right off of the Square is one of our favorites: Snackbar! With a to-die-for Oyster Bar and great drinks, you can’t go wrong.

For Valentine’s Day, Snackbar will have great dinner specials as well as cocktail specials. They ARE taking reservations and will be putting up decorations, too!

City Grocery:

City Grocery’s fine dining is sure to impress and top off any Valentine’s Day! They will be serving the same menu currently available, and our mouth waters just thinking about it!

City Grocery will have Valentine’s Day dessert boxes through The Main Event Catering for those dining in. They WILL be taking reservations, so you will want to call in ahead of time!

If you are able to make reservations at the restaurant of your choice, DO (and tell your boyfriend to get on it, pronto!) Having a reservation will make your night that much easier. However, if you can’t squeeze a rezzi in, get there early!

Whether or not you are celebrating on Valentine’s Day this year, these restaurants are always amazing! We love nights out with the girls & with our guys, so why not celebrate with them on any night! Plus, food and drinks can make just about anything more fun 🙂
